Fremont Crowned Kings of the Stars Conference West Division

The excitement in the room was obvious as the Fremont Marshalls players and coaches alike celebrated their Stars Conference West Division championship.
"A lot of our guys have never been in this spot before," said reliever Cory Newton. "Our team has never won a World Series, but that's something we want to change this year."
With a record of 80-57, the club has wrapped up the division for the 3rd time.
It will be a "sweet moment for our city and our fans" if the team can bring home a championship, said team owner The owner of the Fremont Marshalls.

Spokane's Ness Out 2-3 Months

The doctors have spoken and Edward Ness of the Spokane Selects didn't like what he heard. The 21-year-old closer is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Ness sustained his season-ending injury during the Ann Arbor Z's game yesterday at Knights Ballpark. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Spokane medical staff reported Ness had a torn triceps and would be absent from the lineup for at least 2-3 months.
This season, Ness has 1 save in 5 relief appearances with a 1-0 mark and 2.08 ERA.

Dillonvale Loses 2B Fields, Suspended by League
Thursday, September 4th , 2025
Jonathan Fields has been penalized by the commissioner's office for his verbal and physical assault of an umpire. The second baseman unleashed his fury in protesting a third-strike call in yesterday's Dillonvale-Westwood game at Jackie Robinson Stadium. And now he has to pay for it -- Fields has been suspended for 4 games for his unacceptable actions. The commissioner said in his statement that the league would have zero tolerance for any contact with an umpire, unintentional or otherwise.
Fields is hitting .214 this season with 3 home runs, 21 RBIs and 20 runs scored. He has 55 hits in 257 at-bats.
