The excitement in Montreal is palpable as the local club has advanced through the League Championship Series.

The Montreal Royals downed the Nashville Lasers 5-4 tonight at Turtles Ballpark, to take the series 4-1.

"Things are going to get crazy in Montreal for the World Series. The fans are going to be behind us 100 percent, we know that," said Mike Odendahl, who earned MVP honors.

"There's a lot of motivation in our clubhouse right now to make sure we give them something to cheer about."

For the series, Odendahl hit .375 with a .524 on-base percentage. He had 6 hits, 2 home runs, 4 RBI and scored 6 runs.

The Montreal Royals will play against the Hickory Crawdads in the next round. Hickory won their series against the Palm Springs Heat 4 games to 0. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
