Garber 5-for-5 for Purple Wave

It was almost a perfect day for Kevin Garber.
The New Rochelle left fielder displayed a hot bat, enjoying an outstanding 5-hit day, but something was missing: The Purple Wave lost to the Walnut Park Bobcats, 13-8. Garber told BNN reporters after the game that luck was "fickle."
New Rochelle manager Brent Boudreau told the beat writers otherwise.
"There was no luck today," the skipper said. "He got 5 hits because he has a solid approach to hitting and he put it all together, and we lost because the rest of us didn't put it together so well."
Kevin Garber singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
So far on the season, Garber is hitting .256 with 1 home run, 7 RBIs and 21 runs scored. He has 51 hits and played in 54 games.

Villapando Goes on Rampage Against Royals

Glendale Muskies first baseman Javy Villapando wielded a big stick against the Montreal Royals and his club walked off the field winners by the score of 7-1. Villapando helped tame Montreal with 5 hits in 5 at-bats. Javy Villapando hit a three-run home run off Justin Baker in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Justin Baker in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
Villapando is currently batting .271 with 7 home runs, 26 RBIs and 22 runs scored. He has 48 hits in 177 at-bats.
