StC Pick for Top Pitcher in June is Porretta

Brad Porretta hated to see June turn to July.
And who could blame him?
The 23-year-old hurler piled up 3 wins and no losses for the Bobcats last month and won the Stripes Conference Pitcher of the Month award for his efforts.
Porretta stymied opposing batters on 38 base hits and a .224 batting average. He rang up 35 strikeouts in 45.1 innings of work, surrendered 8 walks and fashioned a sparkling 2.18 ERA.
For the year, Porretta has compiled a 4-1 record with a 1.96 ERA.

Calloway Picks up SC Monthly Pitching Honor

Gabe Calloway was pure magic coming out of the Chupacabras bullpen in June. For his outstanding performance, he picked up the Stars Conference Pitcher of the Month award.
Calloway posted a 4-1 mark and a 1.93 ERA in 13 relief appearances. In 14 innings, he allowed 6 hits, totaled 4 saves with 19 strikeouts and 2 walks.
Calloway's record up to now is 8-and-6 with 6 saves and a 3.89 ERA. He has given up 32 hits in 37 innings with 49 strikeouts.

Cole of Dillonvale StC Batter of the Month

Dillonvale Indians fans believe they've got a talented young star in Keith Cole.
He did nothing to dissuade that notion in June, as he hit .330 with 7 home runs, 11 RBIs and 16 runs scored.
The end result was the first baseman being named the Stripes Conference Batter of the Month.
This season in 65 games, Cole has hit at a .318 clip with 82 hits, 9 home runs, 25 RBIs and 40 runs scored.
