Oaks Blank Tucson, Haselden Winner
Tuesday, July 25th , 2023
Matt Haselden had the Tucson Raccoons dancing to his tune during a sparkling 1-0 shutout performance for the Orono Oaks. He gave up 5 hits, issued no walks and had 9 strikeouts.
Tucson hitters were bewildered throughout the game by his delivery.
"When you face a guy who hides the ball like he does, it takes a couple of at-bats to try to find his release point," opposing manager Bill Escobar said. "We just never figured him out."
This season, Haselden has been credited with no saves. In no relief appearances and 128.1 innings he has a 6-5 won-lost mark, a 2.38 ERA and 118 strikeouts.
