Pete Roan Nabs Best Player Trophy

Pete Roan took ABA Development League by storm this year, and he did it all at the age of 22.

For his spectacular campaign, the Orono Oaks star has been named the 2024 Stripes Conference Most Valuable Player Award recipient.

"To be considered amongst the best in the league is overwhelming," said the first baseman.

On the season he compiled a .313 batting average to go with a .376 on-base percentage. The native of Owasso, Oklahoma also added 29 doubles, 8 triples, 32 home runs, 107 RBIs and 97 runs scored.

He received 23 first place votes out of a possible 24. Joel Patrick of the Westwood Bruins finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Ben Leonardi of the Quebec Fighting Quakers finished third.

When it came to hitting the baseball, David Hollick had few peers in the Stars Conference this year. The gifted designated hitter for Fremont tagged opposing pitchers for a .317 average and was voted the Most Valuable Player Award for 2024. Included in his season stats were 178 hits, 35 doubles, 1 triple, 24 home runs, 97 runs scored and 104 RBIs.

He received 16 first place votes out of a possible 24. Tyler Lake of the Fremont Marshalls finished second in voting with 8 first place votes, while Jim Wilkes of the Montreal Canadiens finished third.
