Four-bagger Feast: Grimm Slugs 3 for Laredo
Saturday, August 15th , 2026
Fans seated in the bleacher section at Ghosts Ballpark were taking cover all day long as Doug Grimm zeroed in on them, rattling three long blasts off the seats in a display of Herculean power.
The big game from the Laredo right fielder helped the Ghosts take the victory, 5-1, over the Nashville Lasers.
"I told myself not to press on the last one," he told reporters in the postgame press conference. "I knew I couldn't force it -- it has to be a nice easy swing."
For the game, he collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, drove in 5 and scored 3 runs.
Doug Grimm hit a two-run home run off Pat Higginbotham in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Pat Higginbotham in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Pat Higginbotham in the 5th and struck out in the 6th.
So far this season, Grimm is batting .285 with 7 home runs, 21 RBIs and 39 runs scored. He has 67 hits in 235 at-bats, 24 walks and a .356 OBP. Grimm has played in 70 games.

Baxter Springs's Lawhead to Miss Season

Doctors in Baxter Springs said R.J. Lawhead might not play anymore this year. The Marshals starting pitcher suffered a torn flexor tendon in his elbow during a game against the Fremont Marshalls and will be out for at least 11 months. Club officials told BNN they do not expect him to return to the team this season.
So far this season, Lawhead has a 1-2 record, 9 starts, 47.2 innings, 42 strikeouts and a 3.21 ERA.

Lyons 5-for-6 Against Indians

It seemed that Walnut Park left fielder D'Andre Lyons could do no wrong as the Bobcats KO'd the Indians, 19-1. Lyons rapped out 5 hits in 6 at-bats and seemed to know which pitches Indians hurlers were throwing.
"I think the Bobcats were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Dillonvale fan after the game.
"I felt good. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Lyons in the postgame press interview.
D'Andre Lyons flied out in the 1st, walked in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run triple in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
So far this season, Lyons has recorded a .407 batting average with 22 hits, 1 home run, 6 RBIs, 11 runs scored and a .448 OBP.
