Injury Sidelines Matt Sandridge For Year

When Matt Sandridge was hurt against the Hartford Matadors, the Chesapeake Tailgators were hopeful that the injury was not serious. However, it proved to be more severe than first thought. The 25-year-old starting pitcher suffered shoulder inflammation throwing a pitch in yesterday's game. Team doctors told BNN today that Sandridge would miss 5 months of the season.
Sandridge has posted a 2-4 record for the year with a 3.77 ERA. Teams are hitting .257 against him and he has rung up 71 strikeouts in 71.2 innings.
