Big Day for DeLaet: Swats 5 Hits

Denver first baseman Matt DeLaet had a big day at Ballpark of Lexington against the New Rochelle Purple Wave. The 25-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-6 and led to the 8-1 Pilots triumph over New Rochelle.
"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," DeLaet said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."
Matt DeLaet singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and flied out in the 9th.
Currently DeLaet is batting .462 with 1 home run, 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored.

Jesters Win, 12-0, as McLamb Mystifies Glendale

Barry McLamb was dynamite at Field of the Muskies, blowing away the Glendale Muskies in a shutout victory. The Joilet Jesters starter had everything working as he held the Muskies to 2 hits in the 12-0 win.
"He was pure nasty out there today," said Glendale skipper Jon Greenberg. "I don't think any team in the league would've had a chance against what he was bringing."
McLamb finished the game with 6 strikeouts and 1 walk.

Villarreal Tames Chesapeake
Tuesday, April 21st , 2026
It was not a good day at the plate for the Chesapeake Tailgators. They came up empty when it mattered against Baxter Springs Marshals right-hander Lorenzo Villarreal, who scattered 2 hits across 9 innings and held the Tailgators scoreless.
"We had 2 hits so I know he wasn't completely untouchable, but he was close," Chesapeake manager Dave York said later.
Villarreal chalked up 5 strikeouts and 2 walks in the 3-0 Marshals win.
