Hove Batters Glendale for 5 Hits

El Paso first baseman Dane Hove had a big day at Chupacabras Stadium against the Glendale Muskies. The 23-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-5 and led to the 6-0 Chupacabras triumph over Glendale.
"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Hove said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."
Dane Hove singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
Hove is hitting .393 for the season with no home runs, 3 RBIs and 5 runs scored. He has 11 hits in 28 at-bats and played in 23 games.

McLamb Tosses Shutout Against Montreal

Barry McLamb was in a mood to talk following the Joilet Jesters contest against the Montreal Canadiens, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Canadiens, 8-0.
"There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," McLamb said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again."
The right-hander blanked Montreal on a 4-hitter, allowing 3 walks and racking up 5 strikeouts.
To date McLamb is 8-1 in 10 starts with a 2.62 ERA and has 61 strikeouts in 72 innings.
