Stripes Conference's Best Batter Announced

When it came to hitting the baseball, Jim Franz had few peers in the Stripes Conference this past week.
The talented second baseman for Denver tagged opposing pitchers for a .500 average and was voted the Player of the Week Award. Included in his stats were 12 hits in 24 at-bats, 1 homers, 7 runs scored and 6 RBIs.
So far this season, Franz has gotten 37 hits in 113 at-bats for a .327 batting average with 2 home runs. His stats include 18 RBIs and 20 runs scored. He has played in 31 games.
