Tampa Bay Captains Mathematically Out of Playoffs

A bad season for the Tampa Bay Captains isn't going to end with a miracle turnaround. The club was officially eliminated from postseason contention today.
This is the club's 5th playoff miss in a row. They last appeared in the postseason in 2021. In total, the Captains have missed the playoffs 17 times in their 27-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Captains have missed the playoffs 5 times.

Rosas Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Detroit

Manuel Rosas saw his 21-game hitting streak wither and die during the Philadelphia Marauders win over Detroit at Marauders Ballpark. The 27-year-old center fielder was held hitless in 5 at-bats by the Detroit Giants, but his teammates produced enough offense to win the game, 14-4.
"Am I disappointed about the hit streak? Maybe, just a little bit," a seemingly upbeat Rosas told reporters in the clubhouse. "But really, how could you be unhappy after you hit in 21 straight games? I'm just glad it lasted as long as it did. Life is good."
This season, Rosas is hitting .325 with 158 hits, 18 home runs, 78 RBIs, scored 71 runs and played in 123 games.

Jimenez Reaches Agreement with Phoenix
Wednesday, August 26th , 2026
Phoenix announced the signing of catcher Dave Jimenez earlier today, ending speculation on who they would acquire to fill the void at that position.
Jimenez will earn $140,000 per year, and will be with the club for 1 year.
This year, Jimenez has hit 6 home runs and posted a .242 batting average.
