Cincinnati's Jalbert Takes Home NC Batting Honors
Wednesday, September 25th , 2024
The numbers speak for themselves: a .333 batting average in 157 games, 200 hits, 44 doubles, 2 triples, 24 home runs, 106 RBIs, 96 runs scored and 69 walks.
Those numbers added up to a batting title for Aaron Jalbert of the Cincinnati Royals.
The 26-year-old first baseman received the 2024 National Conference batting trophy today. At the award ceremony, Jalbert was definitely proud of his achievement.
"I always knew that I had the talent to win a batting title," Jalbert commented to reporters, "but I've had trouble at times with consistency. Everything came together this season. I hope this is not the last time. It will be a challenge, but I hope to win it again."

Bad News for Jalbert and Cincinnati
Wednesday, September 25th , 2024
The Cincinnati Royals plan to take it slow with first baseman Aaron Jalbert, knowing that his recovery from a knee contusion would likely include a few bumps in the road. A team spokesman told BNN, "Aaron has up days and down days. It's still a process. He was feeling really good and then he had a step back. The doctors say it will be about 2 weeks before he can be activated."
A look at his season totals shows Jalbert with 24 home runs, .333 BA, .413 OBP, 106 RBIs and 96 runs scored.
