Golden Gophers End Williams Streak Friday, March 10th , 2023 The Purdue Boilermakers lost to the Minnesota Golden Gophers, 11-5, at Siebert Field, U.S. Bank Stadium, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Aaron Williams's 31-game hitting streak. The third baseman went 0-for-4 on the day. "We felt if we could slow down Williams, we would win the game," Golden Gophers manager Josh Shaw explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down." |
