Santa Rosa Wins League Championship Series Tuesday, September 24th , 2024 It went the distance, but the Santa Rosa Desperados finally disposed of the Glace Bay Miners 2-1 in the series clincher at Miners Memorial Park. Winning the finale gave the Desperados the series, 4-3. They will now advance to the World Series. The Most Valuable Player Award went to Santa Rosa right fielder Collin Mays. He batted .333 in the series, collecting 9 RBIs and scoring 4 runs. "Collin deserves it," said Desperados manager Angel Cano. "He was the glue that held our club together." The Santa Rosa Desperados will play against the Dollywood Partons in the next round. Dollywood won their series against the Mexico City Aztecs 4 games to 1.
