Friday, October 23rd , 2026
He may have less experience than most of his ABA Class A peers, but that didn't slow Eric Breene down at all in 2026.
At the age of 23, the Pueblo first baseman has been named the winner of the Southern A Most Valuable Player Award.
He had a .381 batting average and a .443 on-base percentage this year. In 104 games he piled up 165 hits, 24 doubles, no triples, 36 home runs, 98 RBIs and 90 runs scored.
"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."
He received 24 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. T.J. Cray of the Pueblo Heroes finished second in voting, while Mike Chaloux of the London Werewolves finished third.
