Mexico City Advances to League Championship Series Sunday, September 15th , 2024 Mexico City Aztecs won a nail-biting series against the London Werewolves 4-3, wrapping up the Division Series finale 11-2 at Tony Gwynn Stadium. Aztecs first baseman Jeff Ciervo was named the series MVP. He batted .464, drove in 5 runs and scored 6 to lead Mexico City into the next round of play. "Jeff was real solid for us, real solid," said Aztecs manager Tony Velez. "I normally say I'd like to have nine of him out there, but thankfully we got by with just one this time." The Mexico City Aztecs don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Barrie Admirals - Dollywood Partons series. That series is tied at 3 games apiece.
