Miners Win League Championship Series Tuesday, September 29th , 2026 It was a rousing finish to the League Championship Series at Miners Memorial Park today. The Glace Bay Miners sent the St. Catharines Blue Jays home for the season with a 8-3 win in the decisive game of the series. The Miners took the series 4-3. Up next on their schedule is the World Series. Hauling in the MVP trophy was Glace Bay left fielder Mike Baumgardner. His numbers included a .423 batting average, 7 RBIs and 7 runs. "With any luck, I'll be hoisting another one of these at the end of the World Series," he said. The Glace Bay Miners will play against the Mexico City Aztecs in the next round.
