Big Day with Bat: Hammen 5-for-6 Wednesday, August 12th , 2026 At Ballpark of Bangor, Travis Hammen of the Kalamazoo Comets put on a hitting clinic. He banged out 5 hits in 6 at-bats and mauled the Bangor Lumberjacks pitching staff, but Kalamazoo still came up short on the scoreboard. The Comets went home with the 12-6 loss, in spite of a standout 5-hit performance from their left fielder. "Hey, it's great to get that many hits in a game, but it would have been nice to win the game, too," Hammen said in the postgame interview. Travis Hammen singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th.
