Aponte 6-for-12 for Fremont Sunday, July 14th , 2024 The Fremont Ambassadors stopped the Huntsville Rockets by a score of 13-8 at Ballpark of Austin, with the lion's share of the credit going to third baseman Rene Aponte. The 24-year-old had a career day, collecting 6 hits. "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Aponte said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard." Aponte did just that in his 12 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Rockets. "Not much that I can say," offered Huntsville manager Alec Roller. "He just hammered the heck out of us." Rene Aponte grounded out in the 1st, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, grounded out in the 7th, singled in the 9th, singled in the 11th, doubled in the 13th, singled in the 15th, struck out in the 17th, grounded out in the 19th, hit an RBI single in the 21st and grounded out in the 21st.
