Tropics Advance to World Series Wednesday, September 28th , 2022 The White Deer Tropics are heading to the World Series, having narrowly defeated the Dollywood Partons. White Deer edged Dollywood in the series 4-3, with a win at Dolly Parton Ballpark in the clinching game by a 1-0 margin. Josh Kelly turned in a strong offensive performance for the Tropics and got series MVP for his efforts. "I'll never turn down another trophy for my mantle, another accomplishment to remember once my career is over," he said. "What I would really remember, though, is a World Series win." It remains to be seen how the playoffs will conclude, but if Kelly continues to swing a hot bat, his team will no doubt have a chance. For the series, he hit .409 with a .480 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, 5 RBI and scored 5 runs. The White Deer Tropics will play against the Santa Rosa Desperados in the next round. Santa Rosa won their series against the Newark Flyers 4 games to 1.
