Shmidt 5-for-5 Against White Deer Tuesday, September 27th , 2022 Mark Shmidt exploded for a barrage of base hits at Dolly Parton Ballpark. The Dollywood center fielder had a field day in his team's 10-3 triumph over the White Deer Tropics, finishing 5-for-5. "My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Shmidt must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Mark Shmidt hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Dustin Mitchell in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Bernie Rodriguez in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
