CF Shmidt, Partons Destroy Tropics, 10-3, to Force Game 7
|
The Dollywood Partons and the White Deer Tropics will take the League Championship Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation, the Partons beat the Tropics, 10-3, at Dolly Parton Ballpark to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Dollywood left fielder Mark Shmidt was 5-5 with 2 home runs, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 3 and driving in 4.
Orlando de Jesus helped his team take an early lead with a run-scoring triple. It came in the first inning, making the score 1-0, Partons.
"I like to keep things lively in the clubhouse," said de Jesus. "Believe me, it's much easier after a win."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Dolly Parton Ballpark in Pigeon Forge.
