Game 5 was big. So was John Manship.

In leading Santa Rosa to a crucial 4-2 victory over the Dollywood Partons at Keelhaulers Ballpark, the Santa Rosa starter rose to the occasion, tossing 5 good innings. Manship threw 5.0 innings of 3-hit ball as the Desperados defended their home field to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 World Series.

Mike Gallant went 3 for 4 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI against the Partons. With the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, he grounded out, driving in 1 run that put Santa Rosa in front, 3-2.

"John's not intimidated by who's stepping into the batter's box," said Santa Rosa manager Carlos Acevedo.

Game 6 is scheduled for Tuesday at Dolly Parton Ballpark in Pigeon Forge.
