Big Day with Bat: Bunton 5-for-5 Thursday, June 27th , 2024 The 5th time was not the charm for Isaiah Bunton. The left fielder for the Grand Rapids Jet Hawks hit the milestone at Jet Hawks Ballpark, but it was the St. Catharines Blue Jays that salvaged a 7-6 victory. Bunton finished with a 5-for-5 line at the plate, and it still wasn't enough. "He was not an easy out, that's for sure," St. Catharines manager Freddy Coss said to the press in the postgame interview. "I'm just glad we held everybody else in check and got the win." Bunton declined to speak to reporters at length following the game, saying only that "no loss is a good one." Isaiah Bunton singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 8th and singled in the 9th. For the year, Bunton is batting .389 with 18 home runs.
