Flyers Advance to League Championship Series Wednesday, September 14th , 2022 The Newark Flyers triumphed 7-4 over the St. Catharines Blue Jays at Newark Fields in the Division Series to capture it 4-1. The victory advanced the Flyers to the League Championship Series. For his superb play in the series, Flyers third baseman Alex Ochoa garnered the series MVP trophy, hitting .500, scoring 3 runs and batting in 5. "Only thing better than getting MVP for winning in the playoffs would be winning MVP for winning in the World Series," Ochoa said later. "I'll get to work on that." The Newark Flyers will play against the Santa Rosa Desperados in the next round. Santa Rosa won their series against the Glace Bay Miners 4 games to 0.
