Southern A Top Hurler Announced Tuesday, October 19th , 2021 Jeremy Sharpe of the Weedpatch Widowmakers has been selected the premier pitcher in the Southern A and will receive the Pitcher of the Year Award for 2021. The top vote-getter completed the year with a 10-4 record. He started 29 times, threw 164.2 innings, chalked up 221 strikeouts and 87 walks, limited hitters to a .186 batting average and posted an impressive 2.84 ERA. He received 22 first place votes out of a possible 24. Gilberto Cortez of the Dollywood Partons finished second in voting with 2 first place votes, while Aaron Bergman of the Barrie Admirals finished third.
