Velasco on Fire: 5-for-6 for Atlanta Wednesday, September 7th , 2022 Atlanta center fielder Carlos Velasco had a big day at Aggies Ballpark against the Poplar Bluff Hillbillies. The 22-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-6 and led to the 13-5 Aggies triumph over Poplar Bluff. "Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Velasco said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all." Carlos Velasco grounded out in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a three-run triple in the 8th.
