Evert 5-for-7 for Santa Rosa Tuesday, August 30th , 2022 Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. Matt Evert of the Santa Rosa Desperados had one of those moments when he went 5-for-7 at the plate in his team's 24-3 win over the Deltaville Deltas at Rogers Centre. "I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 24-year-old shortstop told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years." Matt Evert flied out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run double in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 6th, hit a two-run double in the 7th, grounded out in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
