Robinson, Rockets Beat Jet Hawks, 5-3
|
Jerry Robinson was instrumental in his team's 5-3 triumph over the Grand Rapids Jet Hawks. The right fielder hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Huntsville Rockets. Morgan Jenkins was the winner. Over 6.1 innings, he yielded 3 runs on 3 hits, with 3 walks and 8 strikeouts. Picking up his 4th save was 23-year old right-handed pitcher Jimmy Redmond.
Robinson had a key at-bat for Huntsville in the bottom of the first. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 19th home run of the season and gave Huntsville an early 2-0 lead.
Huntsville manager Tim Hodgson called it "a good, solid win."
The Jet Hawks, now 75-58, have lost 6 straight.
