Robinson Blisters Lake Elsinore Wednesday, July 6th , 2022 After a 5-hit effort to lead Barrie's 11-3 victory over the Lake Elsinore Storm, left fielder Jay Robinson told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day." "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the ABA Class-A League-level is really something special." The 23-year-old player earned his accolades at Dust Devils Ballpark with a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Storm. "His swing is getting there," said Admirals skipper Manny Uset, who spoke glowingly of Robinson after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Jay did that to perfection." Jay Robinson singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run triple in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
