Total Control: Long Beach No-Hit by McLain
Sunday, June 4th , 2023
In a dominant outing, Roy McLain of the Mexico City Aztecs totally silenced the bats of the Long Beach Keys, finishing with a no-hitter.

In the 6-0 victory, McLain faced only 29 batters, surrendered no hits, had 8 strikeouts and 2 walks.

"Honestly, I didn't even know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning," Mexico City manager Tony Velez said. "I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had gotten, and I happened to notice that they hadn't gotten any."

Commenting on the defeat, losing manager Ron Kunkleman told reporters in the clubhouse that he had a "simple" analysis of the game.

"The Aztecs had all the hits and all the runs, so they won," he snapped. "But yeah, McLain pitched a heck of a ballgame."

On the season, McLain has 8 wins and 2 losses and a 1.63 ERA.
