Bone Smacks 5 Hits for Deltas
Monday, June 7th , 2021
Deltaville left fielder Ryan Bone had a big day at Rogers Centre against the Grand Rapids Jet Hawks. The 23-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-5 and led to the 23-13 Deltas triumph over Grand Rapids.
"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Bone said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."
Ryan Bone singled in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Andy Mendelson in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 5th, walked in the 7th and doubled in the 8th.
Bone is swinging at a .298 pace on the year with 5 home runs, 12 RBIs and 16 runs scored. He has played in 38 games.
