Mad Ants McCracken to Miss Year
Monday, May 30th , 2022
The doctors have spoken and Matt McCracken of the Portland Mad Ants didn't like what he heard. The 23-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. McCracken sustained his season-ending injury during the Montreal Canadiens game yesterday at Mad Ants Ballpark. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Portland medical staff reported McCracken had shoulder inflammation and would be absent from the lineup for at least 4-5 months.
McCracken has posted a 1-3 record for the year with a 1.99 ERA. Teams are hitting .207 against him and he has rung up 34 strikeouts in 31.2 innings.
