Joilet Tops Orono
Sunday, October 13th , 2024
The Joilet Jesters were good enough to get past the Orono Oaks at University of Maine Stadium today and secure the 1st championship in franchise history.
"When you wear Jesters on your shirt, you're good at something," Joilet skipper Felipe Arriaga told the press.
Jesters shortstop Willie West was named MVP of the series after he went .348 with no home runs and no runs batted in.
"It feels totally incredible," West said. "I could live to 1,000 years old and I'd remember this moment."
The new champions capped off a great season with a 4-2 victory over the Oaks to win the World Series 4-2.
