Almost There: Charleston On Cusp of LCS Triumph After 5-3 Win
The Charleston Shiners moved to within one game of the World Series, downing the Maine Pines on the road at Hannaford Dome by a score of 5-3. Shiners left-hander David Edgemon had a strong outing. He threw 6.1 innings allowing 3 runs. The win gives the Shiners a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Championship Series.

Charleston used the hitting of Dusty Anderson to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Shiners on top, 3-1. For the game, Anderson had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Anderson.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Hannaford Dome in Portland.
