Tuesday, September 24th , 2024
In a series that had a little bit of everything, the Orono Oaks have edged the Hickory Crawdads.
The two rival clubs went the distance in the tightly-contested Division Series, with a 4-2 win in the clincher being the difference for Orono and giving them the ticket to the League Championship Series with a 4-3 series triumph.
"We never stopped believing in ourselves. When push came to shove we were going to get it done," said Matt Tindall, who was named series MVP.
For the series, Tindall hit .240 with a .321 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 3 runs.
The Orono Oaks will play against the Westwood Bruins in the next round. Westwood won their series against the Quebec Fighting Quakers 4 games to 2. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes.
