Kelly Selected SC's Best Player Monday, October 30th , 2023 The manager of the Portland Mad Ants said he thinks Josh Kelly is only going to get better as he gets older. He may only be 23, but it will be hard to top the third baseman's 2023 campaign, as he has been named the winner of the Stars Conference Most Valuable Player Award. His winning campaign featured a .303 batting average and a .360 on-base percentage this year. In 120 games he piled up 146 hits, 22 doubles, 4 triples, 28 home runs, 80 RBIs and 79 runs scored. He received 23 first place votes out of a possible 24. Jon Fritz of the Joilet Jesters finished second in voting, while Brian Hendrix of the Glendale Muskies finished third with 1 first place vote.
