Gay Too Tough, Blanks Chesapeake
Sunday, July 27th , 2025
In a remarkable performance, Fremont Marshalls starter Brian Gay beat the Chesapeake Tailgators, 7-0, in an impressive 4-hit shutout.
"My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this."
The Marshalls hurler finished with 3 strikeouts and no walks. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball.
"It was a rough one for my guys," Chesapeake manager Dave York said, following the game. "We weren't at our best and their guy was."
For the season, Gay has logged 8 wins and 4 losses and struck out 89 batters in 114.1 innings while compiling a 3.62 ERA.
