Superb Year for Blake, Wins Most Valuable Player Award

The future looks extremely bright for Jerry Blake. At the age of 22, many players are still trying to find their way in ABA Development League.
Blake has not only found his way, he's already established himself as one of the game's brightest stars, today being named the winner of the Stars Conference Most Valuable Player Award.
"I didn't expect to hit .274 this year, that's for sure," the right fielder said.
The Portland Mad Ants star also put up a .359 on-base percentage this year, with 120 hits, 24 doubles, 2 triples, 23 home runs, 71 RBIs and 63 runs scored.
He received 11 first place votes out of a possible 24. Brad Stein of the Nashville Lasers finished second in voting with 5 first place votes, while Roy Blaylock of the Hartford Matadors finished third with 4 first place votes.
