Big Day for Budish: Swats 5 Hits Sunday, June 2nd , 2024 It was a sensational day at the plate for Dillonvale Indians right fielder Matt Budish, but a tough one for the team, as the Indians dropped the contest, 8-7, to the Spokane Selects. Even with the loss, Budish was pure misery for the Spokane pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked after going 5-for-5 in an explosive display of hitting. "It's always good to get a bunch of hits in a game, but you also want to win," said Budish, who is the 27-year old right fielder . "Budish really hit the ball hard and when you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage," Selects manager Chris McLure told BNN reporters after the game. "I feel like we threw him some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Matt Budish singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Moises Gonzalez in the 8th and hit an RBI double in the 9th. Budish is hitting .380 this year with 2 home runs, 13 RBIs and 11 runs scored. He has 38 hits in 100 at-bats, 8 walks and a .436 on-base percentage. Budish has played in 33 games.
