The inspired effort of Walnut Park second baseman Chris Maydak was not enough to prevent a loss, 6-5, to the Randolph Prairie Thunder. Maydak was 4 for 7 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. The winner in relief was Danny Martinez. He is now 1-0. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. Josh McPherson closed it out for his 1st save.

The result might have been different, had it not been for 25-year old second baseman Matt Rock. Rock had a run-scoring double in the top of the 14th inning to put the Prairie Thunder ahead, 5-4. For the game, Rock had 1 double and 1 single in 7 at-bats.

"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Rock.

The win gives Randolph a season record of 37-14.
