Matadors Tony Perez Down and Out for Year Thursday, May 23rd , 2024 The season is ending on a bad note for Tony Perez, first baseman for the Hartford Matadors. It was announced today that he will miss the rest of the season because of injury. Perez was hurt against the Montreal Canadiens while colliding with a player at a base. He suffered a torn back muscle and will be out for at least 4-5 months. In 36 games this year, Perez has posted a .372 average and put up these numbers: 9 home runs, 37 RBIs and 28 runs scored. |
