Monday, June 28th , 2021
Quebec first baseman John Oglesby had a big day at Belmont Park against the Chesapeake Tailgators. The 25-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-5 and led to the 4-3 Aces triumph over Chesapeake.
"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Oglesby said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."
John Oglesby singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Juan Millan in the 8th, singled in the 10th and walked in a run in the 11th.
So far on the season, Oglesby is hitting .225 with 8 home runs, 25 RBIs and 23 runs scored. He has 52 hits and played in 64 games.
