John Thaxton powered the Spokane Selects to a win over the New Rochelle Purple Wave. The final score was 9-7. The Spokane center fielder, who is tied for 9th in the StC in extra base hits with 42, was a force to be reckoned with. He banged out 3 extra-base hits, including 1 home run and 2 doubles. Travis Thurber earned the win. David Woodson took the loss for New Rochelle. Picking up the save was Greg Camarillo, his 1st.

With Spokane leading 5-4 in the bottom of the fifth, Thaxton hit a fastball from Chris Zuniga for a 2-run double. It was his 23rd double of the season and put the Selects ahead, 7-4.

"It was a nice win for our side today," said Selects manager Chris McLure. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."

The loss makes New Rochelle 54-66.
