The Spokane Selects faced a tough opponent in New Rochelle pitcher Brian Breen, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Selects Ballpark by a final score of 4-3. Breen went 7 innings and allowed 1 run. The win went to Joseph Scale in relief. His record improves to 3-2. Manuel Angloma took the loss. The Selects now have a mark of 70-48.

Jim Van Donsel was the walk-off hero for Spokane. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Selects catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"The crowd went wild," Van Donsel said.
