Quebec pitcher Sean Torkelson did his part in helping his team beat the Hickory Crawdads, 5-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Quebec is now 54-62, while Hickory is 70-46.

Quebec center fielder Brian Gates helped the Aces go up, 2-1, in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the game tied, Gates hit a run-scoring single off Hickory pitcher Ryan Warren.

"Enjoyed this one," Gates told the Quebec Observer. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
