Mark Crawford impressed in the 9-4 Orono win over Westwood. Crawford, who is tied for 4th in the StC with a .474 slugging percentage, was 2 for 3 with 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Westwood has now lost 4 straight.
The Bruins had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Oaks going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old second baseman Cesar Mena came to the plate. Mena hit a 2-run double on a first pitch cutter from Westwood hurler Perry Norman. It was Mena's 8th double of the year.
"I still think this team can play even better," Crawford told the Orono Herald.
