Admirals Need Extra Innings to Top Tropics, 9-7
Kyle Himes did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to spare the White Deer Tropics an extra-inning, 9-7 loss to the Barrie Admirals at Ballpark of White Deer. Himes went 2 for 5 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. The second-place Admirals improved to 85-41.

Barrie used the timely hitting of Greg Wuerfel to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Admirals on top, 8-7. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Manny Uset.
