Ty Beckford powered the Hickory Crawdads to a win over the New Rochelle Purple Wave. The final score was 7-3. The Hickory second baseman, who is tied for 10th in the StC in total bases with 177, was phenomenal. He stroked 2 extra-base hits, including 1 home run and 1 double. Picking up the win was Marquise Robinson. He went 6.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits. The right--hander struck out 4 and walked 2. Dusty Nelson was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 13 of 17 save opportunities.

Beckford had a big at-bat with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the first inning, when he hit a double. The Crawdads went on to win.

"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Beckford.
