Dollywood pitcher Chris Welch had a large part in his team subduing the London Werewolves, 6-1. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the left-hander. Dollywood reliever Jeff Maxheimer picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Andrew Porter absorbed the loss. The Partons sport a record of 85-28.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Matt Dean? The 24-year old third baseman Dean stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Dollywood up, 2-1. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.

"I like our moxie," said Partons manager Adam Freeman.
