London Loses Again, 3-1
|
Columbus pitcher Mike Hinton had a large part in his team subduing the London Werewolves, 3-1. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. Hinton yielded 1 run over 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3. His record improves to 5-0. The losses continue to mount for London, which has now dropped 7 in a row.
The Werewolves had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Bowsers going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old first baseman Jesus Lugo came to the plate. Lugo hit a solo home run on a 1-0 fastball from London hurler Frank Rivera. It was Lugo's 2nd home run of the year.
"I really like what we did out there today," Lugo said after the game.
