The Mexico City Aztecs knocked off the Atlanta Aggies, 8-3, in Southern A action at Tony Gwynn Stadium. Mexico City pitcher and Orange City, Iowa, native Miguel Rodriguez had an outstanding performance. The Aztecs are now 72-31, while the Aggies fall to 45-58.

Making an impact for the home team was Jonathan Lewis. In the bottom of the sixth, the slick-fielding center fielder had a run-scoring walk. That made the score 4-2, Aztecs.

"Miguel kept his poise and got the job done," said Mexico City manager Tony Velez. "He was outstanding."
