Tropics Get Plucky, 4-3 Win Over Bowsers
The White Deer Tropics knocked off the Columbus Bowsers, 4-3, in Southern A action at Ballpark of White Deer. White Deer pitcher and Columbus, Georgia, native Steve Greene had an outstanding performance. White Deer reliever Taylor Marshall, who is tied for 9th in the S-A in saves with 11, was credited with the win. His record goes to 3-2. Josh Adams took the loss for Columbus. The setback makes Columbus 54-48.

Ben Riffe was the walk-off hero for White Deer. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Tropics pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"Our fans made themselves heard," said Riffe.
