The first-place Dollywood Partons took on the White Deer Tropics in front of a spirited crowd.

The Dollywood Partons topped the White Deer Tropics, 3-1, in Southern A action at Dolly Parton Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to Dollywood pitcher and Chicago, Illinois, native Matt Osborne. Andy Roberts closed it out for Dollywood, earning his 11th save.

Matt Batdorf had a big run-scoring double for the Partons in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Dollywood leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a cutter from 24-year old left-handed pitcher Josh Fields and swatted a double to right. It was his 10th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Partons ahead, 2-0.

"We made a couple of mistakes," said White Deer skipper Brendan Rees, "and it cost us."

Dollywood goes to 76-24. The win puts them 22½ games up in their division.
