The home team gave the crowd at Werewolves Ballpark something to cheer about.
The London Werewolves topped the Mexico City Aztecs, 7-3, with left fielder Greg Ray playing a big role. Ray was 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Werewolves in the win. Ricardo Sanchez went 6.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits. The right-hander struck out 9 and walked 2. With the win, he's now 5-2 this season.
In the bottom of the fifth, Ricardo Montanez delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 1st and 2nd, the London shortstop hit a run-scoring single, putting the Werewolves in front, 7-3.
"Just trying to keep things simple and helping the team win any way I can," Ray told a local reporter after the game.
