Z's Prevail, 7-5, Over Quebec
|
Despite a great performance by Quebec catcher Willie Bazaldua, the Ann Arbor Z's defeated the Fighting Quakers by the score of 7-5 at Knights Ballpark. Bazaldua was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. The winning pitcher was Jon Gunter. He tossed 104 pitches over 6.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits. The Z's raised their record to 15-60.
Rocky Ruschak, who is tied for 5th in the StC in stolen bases with 21, took Quebec hurler Andy Swift deep in the bottom of the fifth. His 3-run home run put the Z's on top, 4-3. In all, Ruschak had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Ann Arbor manager Bryan Gallegos.
