The Westwood Bruins picked up a win at Jackie Robinson Stadium, knocking off the Walnut Park Bobcats, 3-1. On the mound for Westwood was left-hander Antonio Sanchez. He played a key role in the triumph. The third-place Bruins hiked their record to 39-36.

In the bottom of the first inning, shortstop Steve Ross had a run-scoring double for Westwood. It was his 10th double of the season and put the Bruins on top, 1-0.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Westwood manager Hasan Raif. "It's usually not just one thing."
