The New Rochelle Purple Wave went down to defeat to Tom Rise and his Denver teammates. The final score was 1-0, in favor of the Pilots. The win puts Denver at 37-37 this season.

Rise picked up the win. He's now 7-5, after putting the New Rochelle offense in the deep freeze. Over 7.1 innings, he allowed no earned runs on 4 hits.

"Tom was pounding the zone," said Denver manager Adrian Collins.
