Fighting Quakers Deal Z's 2-0 Defeat
Starting pitcher Chris Huyard was a major factor in the 2-0 Quebec Fighting Quakers triumph over the Ann Arbor Z's. Huyard, now 4-5, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing no runs. Josh Harkey closed it out for Quebec, earning his 17th save.

The Z's had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Fighting Quakers going into the top of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 26-year old second baseman Jose Hernandez came to the plate. Hernandez hit a solo home run on a 0-2 fastball from Ann Arbor hurler Kevin Gibbons. It was Hernandez's 5th home run of the year.

"There's a lot of good karma around our club," said winning manager Jeff Gray.
