The Westwood Bruins beat the Quebec Fighting Quakers, 3-2. Westwood pitcher and Chicago Heights, Illinois, native Scott Staffieri led the way. The setback makes Quebec 42-28.

The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Joel Patrick came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Quebec pitcher Jerardo Perez, he hit a 2-2 fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Westwood on top, 3-1.
