The inspired effort of Ann Arbor designated hitter Michael Williams was not enough to prevent a loss, 10-9, to the New Rochelle Purple Wave. Williams was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. New Rochelle reliever Justin Berardi snagged the win, upping his record to 1-1. Michael Brumfield shouldered the loss. The Purple Wave have now won 4 straight.

With a runner on 1st and one out in the bottom of the eighth inning, pinch hitter Jeff Mullinax delivered big for the Purple Wave. New Rochelle was trailing 9-7 when he belted a 2-run home run.
