Oaks Capture Close Win

The Orono Oaks took Marty Capone's best shot and still were able to collect a win at University of Maine Stadium. The final score had Orono getting past the Purple Wave, 2-1, in 10 innings. Capone over 9 innings allowed 1 run on 2 hits, while striking out 9. Ryan Klinck got credit for the win, improving to 4-6. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. The victory gives the Oaks a record of 31-29.
Orono got a clutch hit from Julio Negron. The center fielder launched a solo home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.
"This was a tough loss," said New Rochelle manager William Gregg. "It'll stick in my craw for a while."
